For all General Studies papers NCERT Books ( class 5  to class 12 ) should be the starting point  . The Content of these Books not only gives you a good understanding of the basics but also helps in answer writing which is the most important component for the Mains Examination that will help you qualify for the Personality Test and also help you in the prelims exam as the Preliminary Exam is becoming more analytical than factual.
